Burglars loot Rs 25000 worth of cash from a family gone for funeral

20150126_094713Nagpur: Tragedy strikes a family twice. The family of the victim identified as Praveen Lanjewar aged 30 years and a resident of Pawan Putra Nagar, Near Dighori Naka, Umred Road, Nagpur had gone to fulfill the post-funeral religious rites of his close relative to Khapa. They had locked their house and had left on January 23, 2015.

The neighbours claimed that throughout the night, the street dogs were barking. The reason for their barking was known on January 26, 2015, when the family of Praveen Lanjewar returned back to home.

When they entered, they found that the lock on the main door was broken and the door open. When they entered in their house, they found the goods kept in the Almirah strewn on the floor. The victim found that cash of Rs 20,000/- was stolen. The burglars did not even spare the piggy-bank of their small son. Praveen claimed that his son had saved almost Rs 5000/- in coins and notes.

On the basis of the complaint lodged by the victim Praveen, Police Sub-Inspector Sheikh of Hudkeshwar Police Station registered a case of theft against unidentified burglars under sections 457 and 380 of Indian Penal Code and is investigating into the case.
