Nagpur:
Reacting to a report that a multi-storied building is being constructed ‘illegally’ in Malabar Colony in Hazaripahad area, the developer Prof Vinay Barahate and his partner Gulabsingh Baghel have denied the allegations levelled by the Malabar Colony Residents’ Society in this regard.

Barahate and Baghel clarified that the said construction is being carried out only after permission of NMC’s Town Planning Department. The Town Planning Department had issued Sanction of Building Permit and Commencement Certificate to them on August 13, 2014 for construction of the flat scheme in the area. They have also received copy of the city survey map. This construction is going on under Khasra No. 2/1. The land admeasuring 2200 sq mtr comes under this Khasra, they said.

Baghel further clarified that the proposed road was to be constructed from the house of Mathews to Golchha’s house. However, the NIT sighted the road as non-feasible hence did not construct it. We will have no objection if the administration adopts a positive attitude and builds the road in future. The Tehsildar had come to the site in Malabar Colony on April 20 on the basis of a complaint of Colony’s Society. He had demanded documents from us but at that time the documents were not available with us. That is why they had mentioned ‘within 8 days’ the production of documents in the panchnama, Baghel stated.
