Nagpur: A BSNL contractor has been booked by Imambada police on the charges of cheating three job seekers to the tune of Rs 14.25 lakh. The accused ‘promised’ the victims jobs in BSNL and took the money.
The accused, Prakash Dhanuji Shende (50), is a resident of Plot No 198, near Basketball ground, Imambada. He takes contracts from BSNL. A resident of Durga Chowk, Kamptee, Mamta Madhur Mahajan (40) lodged a complaint that the accused Shende took Rs 14.25 lakh from her, her friend Bharati Waman Bhagat and latter’s brother Praveen in 2018 by promising them jobs . However, Shende neither provided any employment nor returned them the money.

On the basis of Mamta Mahajan’s complaint, Imambada police registered a case under Sections 420, 406, 468 and 471 of the IPC against Shende who has reportedly gone absconding and is being searched by cops.
