Nagpur News: World wide, the month of October is “Breast Cancer Awareness Month” while the month of January is utilized for “Cervical Cancer Awareness”. Divisional Railway Hospital, Nagpur in association with Staff Benefit Fund recently organized a “Breast Cancer & Cervical Cancer Screening Awareness Program” under the Women’s Health Empowerment Initiative, in the Hospital Auditorium.
The guest speakers were Dr.Varsha Sagdeo, Retd. HOD & eminent Breast cancer Specialist of Government Medical College, Nagpur who spoke on Breast Cancer Screening Awareness and Dr.Sarita Kothari, eminent Gynaec Oncosurgeon empanelled with RST Cancer Hospital, Nagpur who spoke on Cervical Cancer Screening Awareness.
The programme was attended by more than 100 female employees, staff, patients and their relatives who appreciated the Health Initiative taken by the Medical Department. The Chief Guest of the programme was Mrs. Jyoti Dixit, President WSSC accompanied by Mrs. Manisha Borwankar, Vice President WSSC and other office bearers. CMS / NGP Dr. C.N. Piprikar, ACMS, Drs. Assudani & Dr.Meera Arora and other doctors worked hard for the success of the programme.
This is the first of a series of programmes to be conducted all over Nagpur Division under the Women’s Health Empowerment Initiative to increase Breast & Cervical Cancer Screening Awareness among the Railway population of Nagpur Division of Central Railway.
