Brahmashankar Tripathi elected President while Shirish Borkar elected General Secretary unopposed

Nagpur: Brahmashnakar Tripathi and Shirish Borkar have been elected unopposed as President and general secretary respectively of Nagpur Union of working Journalists (NUWJ) for the year 2016-2018. Triptahi, who is Special Correspondent of Lokmat Times, was elected as President of NUWJ for the second consecutive term. Borkar, who is Special Correspondent of The Hitavada, is also the General Secretary of Tilak Patrakar Bhavan Trust. Borkar had already served NUWJ as President for five terms. He was also the General Secretary of NUWJ for two terms.

Other office bearers elected unopposed included Anupam Soni (The Hitavada) and Parag Joshi (Tarun Bharat), Treasurer Rahul Awasare (Lokmat), Joint Secretaries Suresh Kanojiya (Lokmat Samachar) and Dinesh Tekade (Nav Bharat), Executive Committee members Joseph Rao (PTI), Mahesh Updeo (Saamna), Anant Mooley (Tarun Bharat), Hitesh Limbachiya, Rajendra Diwe (both The Hitavada), Rajendra Uttalwar (Deshonnati), Neeraj Nandan (Nav Bharat),Sunil Soni, and Basantkumar Tiwari (both Lokmat samachar).

The results were declared by Chief Election Officer Ganesh Shirole. Bholasingh Rathod was Assistant Election Officer.
