Boy killed, two others injured in truck-motorcycle collision

Nagpur: Riding triple seat on a motorcycle proved fatal for three young boys as one of them died when they met with a road accident on Friday afternoon. The motorcycle was hit by a rashly driven truck in Gittikhadan area killing one boy on the spot and injuring two others critically injured. The injured are battling for their lives in Mayo Hospital. The driver of the truck reportedly fled the spot fearing backlash from angry people.

The victims, Pranay Damle, Akshay Khobragade and Mayur Maraskolhe, were proceeding toward Manish Nagar on Dabha Road on their Hero Honda Splendour motorcycle (MH-31/BI 5640) triple seat around 3 pm on Friday. When the trio reached near Tiwari Tea Stall on Dabha Road, the speeding tipper truck (MH-31/CB 7508), rammed their motorcycle head-on and as a result, the three boys suffered serious injuries. They were rushed to Mayo Hospital by some passersby. However, doctors there pronounced Akshay Khobragade ‘brought dead’ while condition of Pranay Damle and Mayur Maraskolhe was stated to be critical. The unidentified driver of the tipper truck reportedly fled the spot after hitting the motorcycle fearing backlash from enraged passersby.

Gittikhadan API Sonavane, based on a complaint filed by Rupesh Kishore Dongre (27), has booked the unidentified truck driver under Sections 279, 337, 304(A) of IPC and searching him.
