A boy lost his life in a hit-and-run road accident in city on Thursday. The fatal accident occurred in Nandanvan area. Cops have launched a search to trace the killer vehicle and the driver.
The victim Akshay Yogesh Sonpipale (21), resident of Plot No. 131, Antuji Nagar, Nagpur was returning home on his Passion Plus motorcycle (MH-49/Q 3685) around 8.30 pm on Thursday. When Akshay reached in front of Dumping Yard Gate in Nandanvan area, a Tata Ace vehicle driven recklessly by an unidentified driver hit his motorcycle and speeded away. The forceful impact left Akshay critically injured and he died on the spot.
Nandanvan PSI Thakur, based on the complaint filed by his father Yogesh Sonpipale, registered an offence against the unidentified accused driver under Section 304(A) of the IPC and Sub-Sections 134, 177 of Motor Vehicles Act and launched a search to trace him.
