Bogus SIM card dealer booked

Nagpur: The city crime branch had busted a racket of bogus SIM card sellers issued on forged papers.

Sachin Mundapalliwar, retailer of Tata Docomo company, SIM card dealer Dheeraj Indurkar, who used to sell SIM cards at Jhansi Rani square and other named Nikhil, who would sell such cards near PWS college have been arrested.

Police have also booked Tata Docomo Company’s SIM card distributor, Mohan Kukreja and staff of Tata telecommunication office who are involved in the crime.

The modus operandi was that the accused buys verified documents of customers from retailers, make several xerox copies and submits it to the dealer by pasting other’s photo and activate the SIM card and than sell it to another people.

 

Envelopes stolen from wedding

As marriage season begins, thieves seem to have continued targeting marriage venues in the city. On Wednesday night, thieves decamped with envelopes containing around Rs 65,000 as a gift to Rajendra Wagh’s son and his wife.

The marriage was held at Maharajbagh club lawn under the jurisdiction of Sitabuldi police station area. Wagh, in his police complaint, told that they have kept the gifted envelopes below the stage. Later, they found it missing.

Sitabudli police are searching for the thieves.
