Nagpur/Parbhani: Dhule BJP MLA Anil Gote’s younger brother Dnyaneshwar Gote, his wife Ratna and driver were killed on Friday when the car they were travelling in was hit by a speeding truck on Painganga River Bridge on Umarkhed Road. The impact was so intense that the car was hurled in the air and crashed into the river killing the three on the spot.
As per details, Dnyaneshwar Gote, an officer in Land Survey Department at at Parbhani, his wife Ratna and the driver were returning to Parbhani from Nagpur in their Ford Figo car on Friday morning. Around 11 am, when they were on the bridge on Painganga River between Umarkhed-Hadgaon, a speeding truck hit the car from behind. As a result, the car driver lost control over the steering wheel and the vehicle plunged into the river. The truck driver sped away from the spot after the accident.
The by-passers immediately informed Police Control Room about the accident. Later, teams of Umarkhed Police and Hadgaon Police from Nanded district rushed to the spot. The car was taken out of the river after much effort along. However, Dnaneshwar, Ratna and the unidentified car driver were found dead. The spot where the car was found comes under the jurisdiction of Hadgaon Police and therefore cops moved the bodies to Sub District Hospital at Hadgaon for post-mortem.
