Biker dies in mishap, injures pedestrian

Nagpur News : Many incidents of rash driving, claiming lives of innocents, have been published very regularly in newspapers. But, it’s very few times that drivers lose their lives in the incident. On Tuesday night, a 21-year-old youth, on his speeding bike (MH 31 DR 3327), hit a pedestrian and injured him badly. But, the accident didn’t leave him unhurt and he too got seriously injured in the accident and finally succumbed to his injuries during treatment.

According to sources, Amit Bhimrao Meshram (21), a resident of Gaddigodam, Gautam Nagar, was riding his bike very rashly when he hit a pedestrian Shailesh Mulchand Humne (44) in front of NADT gate, near Pagalkhana Square. Shailesh, who is a resident of Indora, Sadhu Moholla, Jaripatka, sustained minor injuries. But the impact was very drastic and Amit fell from his back, hurting himself very badly. Both Shailesh and Amit were rushed to Indira Gandhi Government Medical College and Hospital (IGGMCH). During treatment, Amit succumbed to his injuries while Shailesh sustained only minor injuries.

Giitkhandan Police registered a case of accidental death. PSI Choudhari registered an offence under Sections 279, 338, 304 (A) of the IPC against Amit, informed PSI Bahadure. Further investigations are under way.
