Nagpur: A bike rider was booked on the charges of assaulting a Traffic Constable who had initiated action against the accused for violating traffic rules. The incident occurred opposite Hotel Preetam near Agrasen Square on Monday morning.
The accused, identified as Nagesh Lakhanlal Yadav (33), a resident of Binaki, was stopped by Traffic Constable Mohammad Javed Niyazuddin Shaikh (35), attached to Traffic Chamber No. 3, Dosar Bhavan Square, Central Avenue around 10.30 am on Monday. Nagesh got down from the vehicle and started hurling obscene abuses at him. Nagesh then pushed Constable Mohammad Javed aside and slapped him in full public view.
On the basis of Constable Mohammad Javed’s complaint, Tehsil PSI Darade booked the accused Nagesh Yadav under Sections 353, 294, 323 and 509 of the IPC and probing the matter further.
