Nagpur: In a swift and commendable action, Beltarodi Police successfully solved a child kidnapping case within just one hour and rescued a five-year-old girl who had been abducted for ransom.
The incident took place on Sunday, May 4, near Wardha Road. A 30-year-old woman from the Hingna area approached the police with a complaint that her daughter had been kidnapped. The accused, identified as Surya alias Milind Baghel (29), a resident of Butibori, allegedly abducted the child and demanded a ransom of ₹20,000 for her release. He instructed the victim’s mother to bring the money to Butibori.
Upon receiving the complaint, a police team from Beltarodi Police Station, led by Police Inspector Mukund Kawade, immediately launched a probe. Within an hour, they tracked down the accused in Butibori, apprehended him, and rescued the child unharmed.
Preliminary investigation revealed that the accused is a repeat offender with a criminal record that includes multiple serious charges, including murder, as per the police crime database.
The swift rescue operation was carried out under the guidance of Commissioner of Police Dr. Ravinder Kumar Singal and Deputy Commissioner of Police (Zone 4) Rashmi Rao. Their supervision, along with the prompt action of the Beltarodi police team, ensured the child’s safety and the immediate arrest of the perpetrator.
Police authorities praised the coordinated response and urged the public to remain vigilant and report suspicious activities without delay.
