Nagpur: Keeping the environmental concerns in mind, an idol of Lord Ganesh made of pure white chocolate was installed at residence of Ajay Patil and Pragati Patil, BJP Corporator. The idol made of white chocolate and decorated with edible colours is handmade by Pragati Patil herself. The decoration made from scrap paper has been articulated by handicap girls who work for a NGO.
Pragati Patil, who is also Chairperson of NMC’s Women and Children Welfare Committee, Ajay Patil who works for Vanrai Foundation, have appealed to citizens to use eco friendly material and avoid articles made from plastic. Sonia Kandey too extended help for creation of chocolate Bappa.
Nowadays, the growing environmental concerns have led to the innovation of eco-friendly idols. The initiative ensures a fun-loaded celebration without damaging the environment. This year several devotees across the country have taken up eco-friendly idols to celebrate the festival.
