Nagpur News:  The Bandh called by all Industries Associations and Consumers of Maharashtra was successful with almost 80 percent industries  keeping their shutters closed. In every Taluka and district places throughout Maharashtra a Memorandum was submitted to the district authorities in respective places.

In Nagpur industrial associations representatives had meetings with  Dr. Gopal Reddy Divisional Commissioner Nagpur Division, Shri Zode,  Chief Engineer  Nagpur Zone,  who also  holds the charge of Executive Director MSEDCL and Shri A R Lakaswar, Addl. Labour  Commissioners  and submitted copies of memorandum  addressed to Chief Minister GOM and the Managing Director MSEDCL.

 Authorities were apprised about the worst situation of Industries due to steep hike in Power Tariff in Maharashtra due to which all the industries are on the verge of closure. The closure of industries will create Labour unrest, unemployment and revenue loss to the Government, apart from MSEDCL.

 Dr. Gopal  Reddy assured to take up this matter with the Chief Minister. Shri Zode expressed his inability to take cognizance of the matter and said he will forward the memorandum to Head office of MSEDCL During the discussion, association representative  contacted Shri Maroti Deore, Director MSEDCL [Operations] and briefed him of the situation. He promised to visit Nagpur and meet the industries associations and consumers and discuss the issues.

 In the meeting with Shri Lakskar the Industries representatives said that in case power hike is not rolled back industries will be forced to issue closure notice thereby or alternatively shift their industries to other states which shall create Labour unrest and unemployment problem. Lakaswar gave a patient hearing and assured to take cognizance of this serious issue.

All associations also decided to take up the matter with Hon’ble Chief Minister during his visit to Nagpur on 28thOctober. the delegation included representatives from Vidarbha Industries Association, Federation of Association of Industries, Vidarbha, Amaravati, Maharashtra Veej Grahak Sanghatana, Mumbai, Butibori Manufacturer Association, MIDC Industries Association, Kalmeshwar MIDC Industries Association, Vidarbha Plastic Industries Association, Vidarbha Rural Industries Association, Vidarbha Steel Rolling Mills Association, Vidarbha Dal Mill Association.
