Air Vice Marshal S N Mukerjee, Assistant Chief of Air Staff (Education), Indian Air Force accompanied by his wife Soma Mukerjee arrived in Nagpur on a three-day official visit. Group Captain G J Rao, Command Education Officer, HQ Maintenance Command, IAF along with his wife Pushpa Rao welcomed them at Vayusena Nagar, Nagpur.
Air Vice Marshal Mukerjee called on and discussed various issues related to Education Branch with Air Marshal P Kanakaraj, AVSM VSM, Air Officer Commanding-in-Chief, Air Marshal Sukhchain Singh, VSM, Senior Maintenance Staff Officer, Air Vice Marshal J V Singh, Air Officer Logistics Management, Air Vice Marshal Rajvir Bhalwar and Air Commodore C S Thakur. He discussed various school and welfare related projects with Usha Kanakaraj, President of Air Force Wives Welfare Association (Regional) during his visit to HQ Maintenance Command.
The visiting dignitary also visited Command Education Section, Unit Education Section, HQ Maintenance Command (Unit) and Air Force School, Vayusena Nagar. During his visit, the ACAS (Education) insisted upon the importance of implementation of Rajyabhasha in Indian Air Force and transformation of Air Force Schools into centers of excellence. As a part of the visit, AVM Mukerjee also visited Air Force Station, Sonegaon. He also paid a visit to Public Relations Unit (Defence), Nagpur, where he served during early years of his career as Public Relations Officer (Defence).
