Nagpur: BJP MLA from Katol Ashish Deshmukh’s resignation has been accepted on Monday. He had recently put in papers during Congress national level meeting in Wardha’s Sewagram, in presence of Congress President Rahul Gandhi and other senior party leaders.
Vidhan Sabha’s Chief Secretary has recently notified to the Election Commission in this regard.
Deshmukh has recently grabbed limelight owing to his anti-party activities and eventually resigned from BJP.
Deshmukh may join Congress during Navaratri.
Sources informed that Deshmukh’s entry into Congress is being opposed by few local party leaders.
Deshmukh is reportedly awaiting the opportune moment to make the move. Sources informed that Deshmukh would take primary membership of Congress on October 10, the beginning Navaratri fest, in presence of Rahul Gandhi.
