Nagpur News: The ashram of self-styled godman Asaram were ransacked by activists of Bhimsena in Nagpur on Wednesday. The activists, numbering around 25 or so, ransacked the offices and shops at Asaram Bapu Ashram at Fetari District.

One of the activists was caught by Asaram follower. Five motorcycles used by the attackers have also been confiscated. Kalmeshwar police has registered case against 25 persons.

Security of the Ashram has been increased following the incident.

Jodhpur police on Wednesday rejected Asaram’s request for more time to appear before it in the sexual assault case of a 15-year-old girl. Asaram had asked for more time to appear before the Jodhpur police after a lookout notice was issues against the self-styled godman.

The father of the alleged sexual assault survivor has demanded a CBI probe into the case. He has said that Asaram should be given a strict punishment after the ‘godman’ said the allegations were a political conspiracy.
