Another day, another murder. The continuity is frightening. No wonder, the crime graph of the city is rising by the day. A labourer was stabbed to death by unidentified persons on the intervening night of Thursday and Friday under the jurisdiction of Gittikhadan Police Station.
On Friday morning, residents near CID office slums saw a body of a labourer lying in a pool of blood. Gittikhadan police reached the spot after someone informed the control room.
According to primary information, the deceased was working as a labourer in the Fire Engineering College. A passerby informed the police about this incidence. PI Sunil Bonde from Gittikhadan police station reached the crime scene, performed the panchanama and sent the body to Indira Gandhi Government Medical College and Hospital (Mayo Hospital) for post mortem.
The body of the deceased is yet to be identified. However, police said that the murder might be a fall out of a fight or quarrel between the labourers working at the under construction Fire Engineering College, near CID office.
“The deceased have deep head injuries on his head. The killers might have attacked him with a rafter like weapon or wooden sticks,” said PI Bonde. No arrests are made in the case, he further added.
Police have registered a case of murder and have started investigations.
