Unidentified thieves made away with booty worth Rs 3.10 lakh in a house-breaking theft that took place under the jurisdiction of Jaripatka police station. Sources said, the theft took place between November 2 and November 7 at the residence of complainant Maria Francis (30), at Plot No. 152, Mecosabagh Christian Colony, Jaripatka.
The complainant Maria had gone to Gondia to visit her parents while her husband and in-laws went on a pilgrimage at Hyderabad. Meanwhile, thieves broke open the main door and entered the house. They looted Rs 15,630 cash, gold ornament, two watches collectively Rs 3.10 lakh. When the family came back on Thursday, they discovered the theft. On Maria’s complaint, Jaripatka police registered a case under Sections 454, 457, 380 of the IPC.
