Prominent social worker, anti-corruption crusader and pioneer of Lokpal Bill Anna Hazare on Monday targeted Prime Minister Narendra Modi for breaching the trust of people by empty promises and failing to address other issues confronting the nation.

“The Prime Minister showed false dreams to the people and won their trust for coming to power. Modi had promised during Lok Sabha poll campaigning to bring black money stashed in foreign banks within 100 days of coming to power. However, even after lapse of six months, not a single black rupee has been brought into the country from the foreign banks,” said an angry Hazare without mincing words.

Anna Hazare arrived in Nagpur on Monday and was talking to media at a press conference held at Ravi Bhavan.

The pioneer of Lokpal Bill also blamed the Central Government for farmers’ suicides. “The Central Government never gives appropriate remuneration to farmers for their produce. In fact the Government neglects the recommendations sent by various Agriculture Universities and thus deprive the farmers the appropriate remunerations for their produce,” reasoned Anna Hazare.

Anna Hazare, however, declined to comment on Arvind Kejariwal, once a close aide in several of his agitations. Answering a question on Lokpal, Hazare said that the corruption would go down by 50 percent if Lokpal is appointed.

Commenting on Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, Anna expressed confidence that he will emerge successful Chief Minister with all-round development of Maharashtra if, and only if, he did not buckle under pressures of senior ministers.      vlcsnap-2014-12-01-19h06m37s243
