The Chairman of NMC’s Estates, Power and Projects Committee Sandeep Joshi on Monday convened a meeting of Builders’ Association (CREDAI) and Architects, Engineers’ Association in the context of implementation of Single Window System for permission of construction of buildings.

The meeting was convened in accordance with the suggestion by Union Surface Transport Minister Nitin Gadkari and Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis and directives to the Special Committee by Mayor Pravin Datke for implementation of Single Window System in Nagpur Municipal Corporation. The issue was undertaken by the Mayor in view of umpteen problems being faced by the citizens regarding permission for building construction and the civic body’s policy of people-oriented service.

Those who attended the meeting air their grievances and suggested remedial measures such as perfect definition and meaning of group housing in Development Control Rules, forcing of 0.75 FSI instead of 1.25 FSI in Civil Line plots, easing of rules regarding equal distance around buildings, no releasing of hiked fee, TDR by NMC, problems in procuring NOC from Fire Brigade Department, and other issues.

Assuring to resolve the complaints and implement remedial measures as suggested by CREDAI, Architects and Engineers’ Association, the Chairman of Estates, Power and Projects Committee Sandeep Joshi directed the officials to prepare proposals on them and submit them to appropriate authorities. Joshi also expressed his resolve to implement the Single Window System in NMC within 2-3 months after due consideration to suggestions and corrective measures.
