Nagpur News: The Orange City now-a-days witnessing a spurt in cheating and robbing cases with a fresh example which came to fore recently.
According to police, one Raghuvaran P Nair, a resident of Hyderabad in Andhra Pradesh, made an agreement with the complainant Saroj Aniruddh Brahme’s (55) father, a resident of Shivnagar Ward 2 MIDC on purchase of grinding machines. Saroj has office of Prime Engineering Services at first floor of Natthuji Complex on Ghat Road. Saroj’s father made an agreement with Raghuvaran on purchase of grinding machines for the purpose of using them in company’s office on Ghat Road and the written agreement was worth Rs 6.50 lakh. At the same time, Saroj’s father gave 40 per cent of total amount to Raghuvaran as an advance payment. The rest of money was to be paid after the supply of grinding machines to Saroj’s company.
The accused Raghuvaran received Rs 1,40,000 in cash and Rs 2,25,000 in the form of a cheque towards advance payment which amounted to total Rs 3,65,000. This amount was given to the accused between October 14, 2011 and May 21, 2013 period. However, the accused Raghuvaran neither supplied the grinding machines nor returned the big amount to Saroj’s father despite several reminders to the accused from time to time. Finally, after fully knowing the ugly intentions of Raghuvaran, Saroj lodged a complaint with Imambada Police Station in this regard. Saroj also owns an Engineering and Repairing Company in MIDC, Nagpur.
