“Hey do you remember our Science teacher, one marble slipped and fell down from the pocket of Sanjay and she checked the pockets of all the boys and had a bowl full of marbles”. Did you forget how the marbles were then made into the structure of DNA?” “Or Yaar do you remember how we got a good bashing from Maths teacher for not doing our homework?”
It is really an out of the world experience when old childhood friends come together and reminisce old times. There is a strange emotional reunion between childhood friends. With the fast paced life we live in, we lose touch with our childhood friends over the years. As we go through various stages of our lives, someone who was a very close friend is no longer there.
It was a well organized reunion programme, starting with registrations, prayers and lighting of traditional of lamp. The entire batch of 1990 of Saraswati Vidyalaya then paid homage to all the departed souls of teachers as well as classmates. The President of the Alumni Association then delivered his speech followed by felicitation of 50 teachers (who had come from all over the world). Some current teachers who were newcomers then were also felicitated. After a time of relating all the significant experiences by the 1990 batch, the non-teaching staffs were also felicitated.
Who said adults can’t be fun? Well, the batch of 1990 then marched out of the auditorium and came to the place next to the stage outside. Virkhare Sir as he was called who was the Physical Education and Trainer made all the former students stand in line according to the sections and then he actually made them perform PT exercise. It was fun watching all the adults in different professions performing PT.
After the PT, a photo-session was held where each section was photographed with their teachers and later the entire batch was photographed.
After a sumptuous lunch, cultural events followed. Right from traditional dance, Hawaiian dance, traditional fashion show, skit, singing and mimicry was worth watching.
