The official CAT website remained closed for upgradation for 18 hours from 6 pm on January 3 to 12 noon on January 4. The website also offers a mock test for practice. CAT is conducted by IIMs as a pre-requisite for admission to various management programmes of IIMs. The CAT score is valid till December 31, 2016 and the candidates’ scores will be made available till that time. Subsequently, no queries related to issuance of CAT 2015 score cards will be entertained.

Each IIM branch will send interview letters to the short listed candidates directly. The criteria for short-listing varies from branch to branch.

CAT is a computer-based test that evaluates a student on the basis of his skills in English, Mathematics and Logical Reasoning. It is one of the most competitive MBA entrance exams conducted in India which is taken by around 2 lakh candidates. IMS had also launched an online interactive platform called #Chat4CAT on November 1 last year, so as to help students brush up their knowledge and get help regarding any doubt or query.

The test was held across 115 centres, in two slots on a single day. The exam was based on three sections i.e. ‘Quantitative Aptitude (QA)’, ‘Data Interpretation and Logical Reasoning (DILR)’ and ‘Verbal and Reading Comprehension (VRC)’. QA and VRC consisted of 34 questions each, while the DILR section had 32 questions. The exam was set for a duration of 180 minutes.
