Nagpur: Alarmed over a heart-rending incident in which a 12-year old Piyush Shrikant Ghode was killed on the spot when tin sheets loaded in a mini truck cut his throat. The spine-chilling mishap had occurred on Monday evening in Hudkeshwar area. Piyush who was riding bicycle had crashed on the tin sheets laden Tata Ace mini truck parked negligently in front of Gangadhar Kirana Stores, Rajapeth in Hudkeshwar police jurisdiction. As a result, the sharp-edged tin sheets slashed throat of the kid and he died on the spot.
The gory incident fresh in his mind, a Traffic Police Inspector Kshirsagar spotted yet another tin sheets laden Tata Ace mini trucked (MH-49/AT 0929) passing through Indora Square. The tin sheets were protruding perilously. The scene sent shivers down one’s spines in the wake of Piyush’s horrific death. Showing alertness, the Traffic Police Inspector immediately booked the erring driver of the Tata Ace mini truck and reportedly confiscated the vehicle. The police action, in all probability, averted yet another fatal incident.
