Nagpur: An aged couple was robbed of gold ornaments worth Rs 1.26 lakh while travelling in an auto in Sakkardara area here on Thursday afternoon. Three unidentified co-passengers burgled the gold booty and are being searched.
The complainant, Ashok Gulabrao Bondhre (60), native of Kalimata Nagar, Bhandara Road, Mauda, along with wife arrived at Mor Bhavan Bus Stand in Nagpur around 3 pm on Thursday. The couple boarded an auto for going to Mogre Hospital. A short while after, three unidentified men, in the age group of 25-30 years, also boarded the auto.
The three miscreants disembarked the auto at Reshimbagh Square and vanished from the scene. When Ashok Bondhre and his wife reached Mogre Hospital and opened their cloth bag, they found gold ornaments worth Rs 1.26 lakh stolen. The three men distracted the couple’s attention and laid their hands on the gold booty.
Sakkardara PSI P S Zod has registered an offence under Section 379 of the IPC and searching for the three burglars.
