After jewellery shop loot, now man robbed of Rs 2.21 lakh in Kamptee

Nagpur: Kamptee police have been on their toes in view of two back to back incidents of loot under its jurisdiction. Even as the cops are trying to establish the chords in the incident of loot at jewellery shop, similar other incident of robbing a man of Rs 2.21 lakh has come to light. In the latest incident, a man was thrashed and robbed on Monday afternoon.

Police sources said Vikaram Vaidya (43), resident of Dal Oli No. 2, Kamptee, works as an accountant with Asha Hospital. While on his way to deposit cash in bank, two masked youth riding a white Activa scooter intercepted Vaidya around 1.15 pm on Monday afternoon.

They allegedly started abusing Vaidya for eve teasing. Subsequently the accused attempted to snatch the bag from him. When Vaidya opposed them, the accused hit him on his nose and fled with the bag.

Kamptee police have registered case under section 394,34 and started investigation with the assistance of CCTV footage, informed Police Constable, Pravin Ghugal.
