Enraged over the way elections were conducted in Nagpur Lok Sabha constituency, Aam Aadmi Party appeared set to wage a war against erring officials. Adding another dimension to their move, AAP has appealed all the voters whose names were missing from the electoral rolls to come forward and register their complaints with the party in order to strengthen democratic arrangement. The party stepped in with a helpline number to collect the data of those who could not vote owing to their names missing from the list.

Once the substantial data is collected, AAP will file a complaint to election commission and appeal to take serious action by way of cancellation of the elections already held and announcing next date for re-elections.

It was found that large number of people could not cast their votes as their names were not in the voters’ list. Most of them are first time voters who have registered their names after an announcement from election commission much prior to the last date of registration. They got the acknowledgement for the same but didn’t find their names in the voters’ list. Similarly, there were large number of people who have voted earlier which means their names were present in the voters’ list, but were barred from voting this time as their names were absent, says a press release issued here by AAP.

In the true democratic country like India, it is a pathetic situation where a respectable and responsible Indian is deprived of his/ her fundamental right of voting. The parliament is of the representatives of people chosen/ elected by them. The system depriving public at large of voting needs to be changed, the release added.

AAP has also appealed the people to give a miss call on its helpline 08407920202. Your call will get registered with AAP which will subsequently call you back to take the details.
