96th Annual Urs of Hazrat Baba Tajuddin from Oct 3 to 10 at Tajabad, Umred Road

Nagpur: Preparations for the 96th Annual Urs of Sufi Saint Hazrat Baba Sayyed Ahmed Mohammed Tajuddin Auliya Rahmatullah Alah to be held from October 3 to 10, 2018, at Tajabad Sharif Umred Road, have been completed. Thousands of devotees from across the country throng the place for the annual Urs

The Administrator of Hazrat Baba Tajuddin Trust Gunwant Kubde said the grand function to mark commencement of Urs will be marked by ‘Parcham Kushai’ (flag hoisting) at the hands of Shrimant Raje Raghujirao Bhonsale at 9 am under the guidance of Hazrat Sayyed Yusuf Iqbal Taji.

Similarly, various other programmes are being organised during the Urs period. A sandal procession will be taken out on the “26 Moharrum” (Chhabbisvi of Hazrat Baba Tajuddin) on Sunday, October 7 at 10 am from office of Hazrat Baba Tajuddin Trust. The procession will pass through Umred Road, Sakkardara Square, Siraspeth, Ashok Square, New Shukrawari Cement Road, Shivaji Square, Agrasen Square, Daga Hospital, Ganjakhet, Teen Nal Square Itwari, Shahid Square, Gandhi Putla, Badkas Square, Kalyaneshwar Mandir, Kotwali, Zenda Square and other nearby areas. The sandal procession will return to Tajabad Sharif at 6 pm. Later, shahi chaddar will be offered at the dargah of Baba Tajuddin. The procession will be accompanied by dhumal dhol parties, fakir malang, matka party, horses etc. Kawwali, mushayara programmes will be held during the Urs. The Urs will end on October 10 at 10 am with fateha of kul sharif.

Lakhs of devotees from all over the country are expected to visit at Tajabad during the Urs. Elaborate arrangements have been made for the Urs. The civic body has installed 8 PVC tanks having 2,000 litre water storage capacity for the devotees. The NMC will supply water through tankers for the Urs. The Health Department will provide temporary toilets for the devotees. The mobile toilets will be also deployed for them. Security arrangements have been made by city police for smooth and peaceful celebration of Urs. Over 330 CCTV cameras have been installed. The sanitation workers will work 24 hours in three shifts to maintain cleanliness in the premises.
