8 drunkards fined Rs 2000 each for enjoying liquor at two dhabas in Kanhan

Nagpur: Enjoying a glass or two at two dhabas proved costly for eight drunkards as they were fined Rs 2000 each by the court of Judicial Magistrate First Class (JMFC), Kamptee. The owners of the two dhabas were also fined of the same amount for serving liquor without licence.

Teams of State Excise Department and Kanhan police raided Shri Saoji Bhojanalaya and Hotel Kumbhalkar in Kandri and found that the eight drunkards were enjoying liquor served by the two dhabas without licence. All the accused were booked under relevant Sections of Prohibition Act and produced before the court of Judicial Magistrate First Class, Kamptee. The court found all the accused guilty and imposed fine of Rs 2000 each on the eight drunkards and owners of the two dhabas. All the accused were granted bail on personal security bond of Rs 5000.

The accused have been identified as Ramesh Omre and Krushna Dhaniram Kumbhalkar, both owners of the two dhabasa, drunkards namely Santosh Gayaprasad Yadav, Mukesh alias Munna Tekchand Yadav, Shrinivas Narayan Yakra, Krushna Raghav Reddy, Nilesh Vasantrao Nokarkar, Pankaj Ramdas Dolas, Krunal Gahanan Ninaveand Ashish Prabhakar Vaidya.

The action was taken by Second Inspector Anil Mahadeo Jumde under the guidance of SP Pramod Sonone and Inspector Subhash Hanvate.
