Nagpur News: Fearing about their reputation in the society, parents of a 7-year-old girl from Hingna had initially thought not to file a police complaint about their daughter being raped by neighbour. Two days later, on being motivated by the neighbours, the parents finally made their mind to report the matter to police and get the accused to be punished.

19-year-old Aakash Dadmal had lured the minor by offering some fruits to her and sexually assaulted her among the bushes in a farm. Police said that the victim, a first standard student, is declared medically fit by the rural doctors.

PSI Deepti Joshi, the investigating officer from Hingna police station, informed that the incident took place on Sunday but the parents reported the matter on Tuesday evening.

“The girl stated that she had gone to bring water from nearby bore well when Dadmal called her to take some oranges. He took her among the bushes and forced himself upon her. The girl told that she screamed but he gagged and threatened her of killing her if she told the matter to anyone,” said Joshi.

The victim’s parents, who are farmers, had gone for their work, when the incident took place. Frightened by Dadmal’s warnings, the victim kept mum for Sunday night. The next day, her mother questioned her after she noticed the blood stains on her clothes.

“Initially, the parents tried to hide the incident but a neighboring woman noticed something fishy and asked the mother. After discussing with other residents, the parents file a complaint on Wednesday evening,” informed Joshi. The medical examination confirmed the rape and an offence was registered.

Police said that some enraged residents even gathered at Dadmal’s house and protested after they learnt about the incident. Dadmal, a labourer, was arrested immediately after the parents approach to police station.
