Nagpur: The Crime Branch’s NDPS Squad has seized 55 kilograms of ganja and arrested two alleged drug traffickers during a raid in the Shantinagar police station limits. According to police, the contraband was brought from Odisha and was meant to be supplied in Nagpur.

Acting on a tip-off, the Crime Branch conducted a raid at a shed near Dalal Chowk in Dahi Bazaar. Police first intercepted Sheikh Javed, who was riding a number plate-less moped. A search led to the recovery of ganja from his possession. The team then cordoned off the shed and arrested Mohammed Haroon Rashid Pinjari.

During the search, police recovered 55 kg of ganja packed in four plastic sacks. Officers also seized three mobile phones, an electronic weighing scale, a two-wheeler, and ₹1.35 lakh in cash. The total value of the seized property is estimated at ₹16.51 lakh.

Preliminary investigation suggests that the ganja was transported from Odisha for distribution in Nagpur. Police are now investigating the larger drug trafficking network and are searching for other persons involved in the racket.
