Nagpur News: A five-year-old rape survivor in Madhya Pradesh, who was being treated in a Jabalpur hospital in Madhya Pradesh, is being brought to Nagpur in an air ambulance after her condition deteriorated.
Air ambulance is scheduled to land at Nagpur airport at 10:15 pm tonight and victim will be taken to CHILD CARE hospital whose ambulance is already on standby at the Nagpur Airport.
According to police, the accused, a 35-year-old man who works in a private power plant, raped the girl on April 17 after luring her with a chocolate.
After the alleged crime, he dumped the girl at a farm in the town. Her parents found her lying in an unconscious state there the next morning, following which she was rushed to the Government Medical College, Jabalpur.
“Her condition is serious as she is yet to regain consciousness,” police said.
Enraged over the incident as the police unable to arrest the accused so far, people in Ghansour town observed a bandh today and submitted a memorandum to the Sub Divisional Magistrate (SDM) demanding strict action against the accused in this case.
Ghansour Police Station in-charge R D Barti said that a case under section 363, 366 and 376 of the IPC was registered against the accused person and police teams have been sent to Delhi and Bihar in search of the accused.
Seoni district Public Relation Officer (PRO) Ghanshyam Sirsam said that the private power plant company is bearing the entire expenses of her treatment and its management also announced to give a suitable job to the girl’s father.
