2 dead, many trapped in multi-storey collapse in Mumbai’s Dongri

Mumbai : As many as two people died while about 50 people were reportedly trapped in a multi-storey building which collapsed in south Mumbai’s Dongri area on Tuesday morning. Five persons have been rescued so far from the collapse site.

Injured people have been taken to JJ hospital. Meanwhile, Mumbai Police commissioner Sanjay Barve reaches building collapse site.

Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation has sent three teams of NDRF, fire brigade, disaster management team as well as all senior officials of MCGM on the site. Rescue work is in progress & BMC has requested citizens to cooperate with the authorities.

The collapsed building’s demolition was ordered in 2012, says MBRRB Chairman Vinod Ghosalkar
