Nagpur: In a happy ending but tension filled incident, a 4-year old girl, who was kidnapped by an unidentified bike-borne man, was found crying at a Ward in Government Medical College and Hospital shortly thereafter. The accused kidnapper reportedly lured the kid girl of showing her pigeons and took her away. Why she was dropped at GMCH Ward remains a mystery which the cops are trying to solve.

The Lakadganj-based complainant told police that his 4-year old daughter was playing in front of her house around 4 pm on Wednesday. At the same time, the unidentified motorcycle-borne man approached her and on the pretext of showing her pigeons, took her away. When the girl’s mother searched her, she was told by a 7-year old boy, cousin of the girl, that a bike-borne man took her for showing pigeons. Sensing something amiss, the girl’s mother immediately contacted her father who works as sanitation worker in Gandhibagh Zonal Office of NMC and told him about the incident.

The girl’s father reached home immediately and later lodged a complaint with Lakadganj police. The cops alerted Control Room and all police stations across city. The girl’s photograph was also posted on WhatsApp. In the meanwhile, guards of Maharashtra Security Force deployed at the GMCH spotted a girl crying in front of Ward No. 24 in the night on same day. They informed the Medical Police booth. The cops immediately identified her on the basis of her photograph on WhatsApp. She was later handed over to her parents. Lakadganj police are trying to obtain the CCTV footage from GMCH premises to identify the man who had kidnapped the girl and dropped at Ward No. 24.

A case under Section 363 of the IPC has been registered and a searched has been launched to nab the accused kidnapper.
