27 booked for creating ruckus at community event

Lakadganj police have booked 27 persons for allegedly creating ruckus in a public programme of Teli community on Sunday. The accused have been identified as Gangadhar Lele, Pravin Narad, Pradip Pohane, Raju Khopde, Charan Dhavad, Devendra Meher, Viju Hatwar and 20 other unidentified persons.

According to information, Teli community’s public programme was organised at Shri Khetra Ramtek Dharmashala, Garoba Maidan. While the programme was under way, the accused forcefully barged into the programme resorted to whisking away people and broke chairs and sofas kept for the programme. They also hurled abuse on a 69-year-old complainant Baburao Antuji Wanjari.

The accused also threatened the guests of dire consequences which grew panic among them. On Wanjari’s complaint, Lakadganj police registered an offence under Sections 143, 294, 506, 427 and 341 of the IPC and booked the accused. Further investigations are under way.
