Only 3 Sim cards found
Nagpur: After receiving flak for negligence, mismanagement and rampant corruption, the officials of Nagpur Central Jail have finally woken up from their deep slumber. On April 3, 2015, the officials of Nagpur Central Jail had undertaken a search and seizure operation which lasted late in the night. During this operation, the prison officials seized as many as twenty six mobile phones from the jail inmates. However, only three Sim cards were recovered.
While speaking exclusively with Nagpur Today, Deputy Commissioner of Police (Zone-IV) Ishu Sindhu said that a First Information Report (FIR) about the crime and the seizure has been registered at Dhantoli Police Station.
The Nagpur city Crime Branch will now be investigating into the matter. Sources said that Superintendent of Police (Prisons) S P Dhole from Amravati has been given additional charge of Nagpur Central Jail. Immediately after taking charge, he has started cleaning the mess.
