Nagpur: A 20-year old boy has been arrested on the charges of raping a girl with the promise of marriage with her.
The 20-year old victimized girl, in an FIR filed with Yashodhara Nagar Police Station, stated that the accused Jaikumar Shrawan Katekar of Vinoba Bhave Nagar, got acquainted with her and later promised to marry with her. After luring and trapping the girl with marriage promise, the accused Jaikumar exploited her physically over a period from February 1, 2015 to September 1, 2015. However, when the girl insisted the accused to marry her, he flatly refused to do so. Dejected as well as enraged by the refusal, the girl lodged a complaint with Yashodhara Nagar police against the accused.
Acting on the complaint, Lady Mandwale booked Jaikumar Katekar under Sections 376(2)(N), 417 of IPC read with Sub-Sections 3(1), 12, 3(2)(5) of Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes (Prevention of Atrocities) Act, 1989 and placed him under arrest.
