2 women relieve woman of Rs 74,000 bounty

A woman was relieved of “Mangalsutra” and a cash of Rs 4000 by two women.

According to police, the woman Monica Nitin Sardar (24), a resident of ST Corporation Quarters, Ganeshpeth, was returning home in a six-seater auto from SRPF Hingna. Two unidentified women, who were also travelling in the same auto, diverted Monica’s attention and slit the plastic bag Monica was carrying and removed a red-coloured packet containing the “Mangalsutra” worth Rs 70,000 and a cash Rs 4000 collectively worth Rs 74,000. The incident occurred between Shankar Nagar Square and Jhansi Rani Square at about 1745-1800 hours on 14-08-2013. Monica lodged a complaint with Sitabuldi Police Station. The Sitabuldi PSI Bopte registered an offence against the two unidentified women under Section 379 of IPC and further probing the matter.
