Nagpur: Two tricksters from “Ireland” duped a woman to the tune of Rs 3.34 lakh on the pretext of presenting her a ‘costly gift’. Cops are searching for the two fraudsters most probably the local goons.

A resident of Pratap Nagar area, the victim woman, who has not been identified, told police that she received Facebook friendship request between April 6 and 20, 2018, from one of the accused Victor Moses of “Ireland.” The woman accepted the friendship request. Four days later, the accused Victor Moses told her that he has sent a ‘costly gift’ to her. Another accused, a woman, called the victim woman from 9205410762 and told her that her gift parcel from ‘Ireland’ has arrived and she will have to remit Rs 18,500 as charge.

A few days later, the accused woman trickster told the complainant woman that she will have to deposit Rs 2 lakh for income tax purpose and Rs 1.25 lakh for converting foreign currency into Indian currency. The victim woman deposited the amount Rs 3.25 lakh in Dena Bank. However, the complainant woman sensed something fishy when the woman trickster again told her to deposit Rs 3.75 lakh for the ‘gift.’ This time she refused and demanded her money back.
