2 pedestrians killed, other hurt in two separate mishaps

Nagpur: Two pedestrians were killed and another injured when they were hit by speeding vehicles in two different incidents on Wednesday. The two drivers of the killers vehicles have been booked but not arrested so far.

In the first incident, the complainant Sunita Pravin Wadibhasme (25), resident of Plot No. 330, Mhalginagar and her mother Sushila Narayan Dudhwade (65) were going towards Jankinagar after crossing the Manewada Ring Road walking at about 4.30 pm on Wednesday. Near Bhagyalaxmi Mangal Karyalaya, a rashly driven motorcycle (MH-49/S 3813) hit both Sunita and Sushila and injured them grievously. However, the aged Sushila could not bear the forceful hit and died on the spot. Sunita was taken to a nearby hospital.

Hudkeshwar PSI V M Gedam has booked the unidentified motorcycle rider under Sections 279, 304(A), 337 of IPC and investigating the case further.

In another incident, Bhojraj Surajlal Kalsarpe (50) of Sanjaynagar, Hingna Road, was returning home walking around 11.30 pm on Wednesday. When he reached in front of Deshmukh Trading Company an 18-wheeler Tata truck (PB-23/M 8345) rammed him with great impact and crushed him to death on the spot.

MIDC API Shiurkar has registered a case against the driver of the truck under Sections 279, 304(A) of IPC.
