2 drug peddlers nabbed with ganja worth Rs 25,000

Nagpur: Crime Branch sleuths on Tuesday nabbed two drug peddlers and seized more than two and half kg of ganja worth Rs 25,000 and other material. The arrests were made under Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act, 1985.

Acting of specific information, a team of cops rounded up two suspects from Wanadongri, in front of Ajju Chicken Centre. The suspects were identified as Mohd Irshad Mohd Raees (24), resident of Ward No. 2, behind Wanadongri Gram Panchayat, MIDC and Sheikh Anwar Sheikh Raheman (32), resident of Mominpura. Upon frisking of the two suspects, cops found them in possession of 2.5 kg of ganja worth Rs 25,800.

The two accused were booked under Sections 20, 29 of NDPS Act and placed under arrest.

The action was taken by NDPS Squad Senior PI Deepak Khobragade, API Devendra Vanjari, constables Datta Bagul, Vithoba Kale, Pravin Fandade, NPCs Nitin Rangne, Satish Patil, Kishore Mahant, Tulsidas Shukla, Nitin Salunkhe, Naresh Shingne, Woman Police Sepoy Rubina Sheikh under the guidance of DCP (Crime) Sambhaji Kadam, and ACP Somnath Waghchaure.
