Nagpur: A teenage boy was killed and his friend injured seriously when the motorcycle they were riding in collided with a truck in Yashodhara Nagar area here in the wee hours of Tuesday. The truck driver fled the spot leaving behind his vehicle.
The deceased Roshan Chhotelal Shahu (14), resident of Mohanlal Bajpayee Nagar, and his friend Saurabh Shahu (17) were going towards Fukat Nagar on Honda Shine motorcycle (MH-49/R 4320) around 3.45 am on Tuesday. While they were crossing Vinoba Bhave Nagar Square on Ring Road, a truck (GT-01/AT 6962) hit their bike with forceful impact. Roshan, who suffered grievous injuries, died on the spot. Saurabh too was injured and taken to a nearby hospital. The unidentified truck driver fled the spot leaving behind his vehicle.
Yashodhara Nagar Woman PSI Gujar, based on a complaint filed by Chhotelal Shahu (45), booked the absconding truck driver under Sections 279, 304(A), 337 of the IPC and searching for him.
