Nagpur: A 19-year-old BTech student was killed in a road accident in the Mankapur area of Nagpur on Tuesday evening after an e-scooter collided with a dumper. Another student travelling with her sustained minor injuries.
The deceased has been identified as Muskan Devachand Khiyaldasani, 19, a resident of Jaripatka. She was a second-year BTech student at Jhulelal Institute of Technology in Bokhara. Her fellow student Rajlaxmi Lokhande, who was riding on the e-scooter with her, suffered minor injuries.

According to preliminary information, the two students were travelling on an e-scooter along the Godhni-Zenda Chowk Road at around 5:45 pm to 6 pm when their vehicle collided with a dumper.
Following the impact, Muskan, who was reportedly seated on the rear of the scooter, fell onto the right side of the road and came under the dumper’s rear wheel. She died at the spot.
The dumper driver reportedly fled the scene following the accident. However, with the help of local residents, police intercepted the vehicle and detained the driver.
The driver has been identified as Damodar Sitaram Sahare, 61, a resident of Nari-Kapil Nagar. The dumper was also taken into police custody.
