In the second incident, a 21-year old boy Akshay Devanand Bokde, resident of Savitribai Phule Nagar, Ajni abducted a 14-year old girl by luring her with marriage promise and took her to an undisclosed place at about 7.30 pm on Monday. Based on a complaint lodged by the girl’s father, Ajni API Shejul has booked the accused Akshay Bokde under Section 363 of the IPC and searching him and the girl.

The reported kidnapping of Viraj has brought memories of Yug Chandak kidnapping case alive. Yug, son of a reputed doctor, was kidnapped from near his home after coming from school for ransom. However, Yug was later murdered by the kidnappers and his body dumped on the outskirts of Nagpur. Both the abductors were arrested.
