14% Nagpur division students pass in SSC October exams

Nagpur News:  The results for October exams of Class X and Class XII for the Maharashtra State Board were declared on Wednesday afternoon. More than 2.23 lakh students sat for the exam across the state, out of which 14.61% passed. The pass percentage of Nagpur division is 14.29%.

Out of the six districts of Nagpur division, Gadchiroli has the highest pass percentage of 42.28% at the SSC level (class X) Bhandara has the lowest pass percentage of 9.24%, followed by Nagpur district with 9.95%. Nasik division has the highest pass percentage of 24.99% in Maharashtra, by a big margin.

A higher percentage of girls than boys passed in Nagpur division. 15. 28% girls and 13.49% boys passed this year, as compared to 22.38% girls and 18.97% boys in 2011.

October exams, or Winter exams, as they are also known, are held for students who fail in the original board exams held in the month of March. Compared to 2011, the number of students who gave the exam this year increased by almost 1000. However, the pass percentage has reduced by more than 4%.
