13-yr old girl killed, father hurt as their Activa hit by truck on Railway Bridge, driver arrested

Nagpur: A 13-year old girl was killed and her father was injured when the Activa scooter they were riding was dashed by a negligently driven truck on Railway Bridge near Nagpur Station on Tuesdayafternoon. The driver of the killer truck has been arrested.

According to police, the victims Sayka Parvin Mohammed Ataha (40) and her daughter Reeda Fatema (13), residents of Mankapur Ring Road, behind Palloti Church, Nagpur were proceeding to Sadar from Mayo Hospital on their Activa (MH-31/ER 8247) around 2 pm on Tuesday. When both the father-daughter duo reached middle of the Railway Bridge near Nagpur Station, a speeding Eicher truck (MH-31/CQ 7985) driven recklessly by Bhisaram Ganpat Bhise (38), resident of Bhavani Nagar, Nagpur rammed into the Activa from behind. The forceful impact hurled Sayka and Reeda into the air and both crashed on the road. Reeda Fatema died on the spot as a result while her father Sayka too suffered serious injuries. He was rushed to Mayo Hospital where he is battling for life.

Sitabuldi PSI Bhoyar, acting on the complaint filed by Faijan Khan Abdul Rahim Khan, registered an offence against the truck driver Bhisaram Bhise under Sections 279, 337, 304(A) of the IPC and arrested him.
