The report of a 12-year old boy being kidnapped turned out be a hoax. The case was neither of missing nor kidnapping. The boy Abhijit Suresh Bagde (12), a resident of Gorewada, had left his Kalpana Bhavan Hostel in Gorewada with the clear intention of escaping from the Hostel. However, a policeman spotted the boy at Panchsheel Square.
According to Gittikhadan PSI Aade, Abhijit went missing between 1200 and 1600 hours of Monday. Police were surmising a kidnapping case. The ground reality was, Abhijit was fed up with the studies in the Hostel. The “fed up” Abhijit anyhow managed to escape from the Hostel and straightway reached Sitabuldi. He then started walking toward Panchsheel Cinema Square. At the same time, an ASI of the Crime Branch saw him. However, since Abhijit refused to divulge any information, the ASI took him to Patankar Square-based Children’s Home. The Gittikhadan police also came to know about finding of Abhijit and his whereabouts. Abhijit narrated the reason for fleeing the Hostel. The next course of action by police would be known after police investigate the matter.
