Nagpur: As devastating floods and extreme weather conditions continue to affect parts of Nepal, as many as 115 pilgrims and tourists from different parts of Nagpur had a narrow escape and are now safe.
The group, which had travelled to Nepal through Shreedhar Maharaj, began its journey from Nagpur on August 22. After reaching Gorakhpur on August 23, the travellers proceeded to Kathmandu in two tourist buses on August 24.
The group performed religious rituals and visited several tourist destinations before beginning its return journey as per the scheduled itinerary.

On Thursday evening, the travellers left Kathmandu for Janakpur in four smaller buses. However, after a sudden deterioration in weather conditions, the buses turned back towards Kathmandu at around 11.15 pm.
The group was forced to halt at the Pashupatinath parking area as the worsening weather and road conditions made further travel risky. Ten passengers had already left earlier in the morning.
The situation became particularly difficult as larger buses were stopped from proceeding further due to the conditions on the roads. Despite the disruption, all 115 Nagpur residents are reported to be safe.
Four Nagpur Pilgrims Safe in China’s Saga County
Meanwhile, four Nagpur pilgrims returning to Kathmandu after completing the Kailash Mansarovar Parikrama also faced difficulties amid the worsening weather conditions.
The four are currently staying at a safe location in Saga County, China. They are accompanied by pilgrims from Vadodara, Gujarat.
Authorities and local coordinators are closely monitoring the situation as the travellers await safer conditions for their onward journey.
