10 days PCR for Santosh Ambekar

Nagpur News : Gangster of crime world in city, Santosh Ambekar, who was arrested with four others by crime branch police in court premises on Wednesday, was produced amid tight security in the district and session court on Thursday around 4 pm. After going through arguments of defence lawyer and government pleader, Judicial Magistrate First Class (JMFC) S C Raut has announced police custody remand for en days.

Ambekar, Yuvraj Mathankar, Sanjay Fatode, Gautam Bhatkar, Aakash Borkar and Poonam Wasnik were booked for charges of extortion, wrongful restraints and some offences of Arms Act by Ambazari police. Complaint was filed by builder Jeetendra Chavan for allegedly threatening him at gun point on December 14, inside Ambazari police station.

Ambekar and others were granted bail last week in the case. Later, the case was shifted to crime branch. He and his partners have again applied for the ad interim bail. However, District and session judge S D Jagmalani rejected their bail plea and all including Ambekar were arrested in the court on Wednesday.
